Philosophy
The Jewish Enrichment Department exists for our membership and the greater New Orleans community as a resource for Jewish culture, practice and thought. Large events and celebrations held at the Center, often co-sponsored by local organizations and synagogues, are a chance for our community to join together. The Jewish Enrichment Department also sponsors classes and activities like family Shabbat dinners both Uptown and in Metairie.
Programs sponsored by the Jewish Enrichment Department include People of the Book; our fun-filled "Adloyadah" Purim carnival; Holocaust Remembrance Day; Israel Independence Day; the New Orleans Jewish Film Festival and special programs like Live from the 92nd Street Y.
Traditions on Wheels®
Traditions on Wheels® is a user-friendly display cart that introduces educational activities of Jewish content for all ages. The Traditions on Wheels® program helps the center promote Jewish holidays and customs. Every Jewish holiday, you can find information, answers to your questions and family activity ideas. |
